The “Rallye for a Cure” is a grassroots event created to empower people to take action in the fight against T1D by using their classic cars to spark awareness.

The "Rallye for a Cure" Founders Linda and Bill Wright started this annual road rallye to support their son, Jack, and the millions of people like him with Type 1 Diabetes. Bill, an avid car enthusiast, created this event to combine his love for vintage cars with his passion to help cure T1D. Jack was diagnosed with diabetes in 2009 when he was a 6th grader at King Philip Middle School in West Hartford. He now is the Powerhouse Educator for the Cornell Extension Service in Ithaca, NY. The whole family, including Jack and his wife Lil, sisters, Alli with husband Jack, and Natalie, help to design the route, create clues, score driver sheets, and make sure things go smoothly on Rallye Day. Alli, husband Jack, Lil, and Natalie handle the auction and registration on Rallye Day. Jack helps to gather auction items and serves as the spokesperson for those afflicted with Type 1 on the day of the Rallye. Several of Linda’s friends accompany Linda on the many trips in the route to make certain that all the clues can be seen, while Linda’s siblings come from New Hampshire and Massachusetts to participate and help run the day.
